Singapore (Day 36-39)

Supra clean, so green and quiet for such a big city with skyscrapers... Seemed fake to me at first. Everything looks so perfect. This is the first time Thierry feels so peaceful in a city as big as Singapore though.
As we walked all over the city the first 2 days and thus did not used public transports, we only realized on the third day that they were all hiding underground and in buildings working... in shopping centres and on Orchard road for christmas shopping.
Christmas was a good time to come as the city was beautifully decorated.... Surely the best we have seen so far (compared with other cities such as Sydney, NYC, London...) Merry Christmas to all!! We enjoyed the Christmas atmosphere for a few days around here despite the temperature... Enjoy the snowy weather which is the best (only for those 2 days :-() though)
We have a great feeling about this city but perfection might be one of its drawback when living over here... or maybe not!?
Why is Singapore called The Lion City? It is told in a story that before Singapore was founded, the prince from the neighbouring island, Sang Nila Utama, was exploring the seas for a new land and made landfall on a new island. Upon arrival, he and his men were greeted by a strange sight; the appearance of a powerful beast with a golden mane - that which we call a Lion. Then the Prince named the island 'Singapura' which means 'city of the lions' in the Malay language.
